Flash adds animation, videos, or sound to any website. Although, this is how Flash is most often used; Flash brings more to the table. With the recent expansion of AIR(Adobe Integrated Run-time) environment, Flash can now be used to create desktop applications. Flash can also be programmed as a stand-alone application; although, it is not a complete as other desktop programming language.

Most video players found on the web today are Flash Video Players. With few exceptions, flash is an integral piece of the web world, bringing multimedia to any website. Some websites have even go to the extreme of creating the entire website as one flash file.
