A little about me

My obsession with computers started when I was 9. Once I entered my Sophemore year in High School, I was placed in a General Computer course where I became efficent in website design. I continued my education pursuing an Associates Degree in Communications and New Media from Southern Maine Community College; graduating with a 3.85 GPA and knowledge in Graphic Design, Website Development, Flash development and Design, and limited video editing. I was asked to create a flash application for the Freshmen Orientation at Southern Maine Community College, which can be viewed in the Portfolio Section of my website.

It is my goal to provide my client with a website that appeals to them as well as the target Audience. Also, to create a website that boosts sales and helps their company prosper to new levels.

Things you should think about before a consultation
  • Domain Name

  • Key words for search engines

  • Logo

  • Color scheme

  • Website design likes and dislikes

  • Use of flash components
Domain Name:

A Domain Name is the name that a customer will type in to view your web site(i.e. www.Your Domain Name.com) This is usually the name of your company or service, or something similar.

Key words for search engines

Keywords are words that are typed into any search engine such as Google.com, Yahoo.com, or MSN.com; and will display your website in the listings. These words must be closely related to the content of your site in order to get optimum results in search engines. You should usually have no more than 20 keywords and alteast 10 to ensure a wide range of displays for keywords entered. Larger sites or sites with many products will choose more keywords to optimize searches.

Logo

A logo is a way for a customer to identify your company through a visual item. Logos are usually simple and colored to match your company colors. If you do not have a logo, it is a good idea to have one created for a website. If you do have a logo I will work with you to incorperate this into the layout of the site. Consistency is a major part of branding, which will help customers identify your company by a visual means without the used of text.

Color Scheme

A color scheme is very important to a website. Color scheme often help distinguish sections of a website. If a color scheme is not created and many random colors are used then the site usually looks unprofessional. A nice flowing color scheme will boost visual appeal to any web site. If you do not have a color scheme in mind, I will work with you to come up with one that suits your company as well as gives the site a clean even flow.

Web Site Design likes and dislikes

This is very important to help with the layout design process. If a customer tells me their likes and dislikes of a web site; I will do my best to incorperate those likes into the design. This will help reduce production time and will shorten the overall project.

Flash Components

Flash Components are used to help accent the website as well as add animation and visual effects to sections of the site. Flash is a great way to grab a viewers attention if done correctly. Many things can be created with flash such as slideshows, media players, games, and even web applications. Flash is a versitile program that has be found to have many uses, and with advancement the uses for flash are only growing.
